My Approach
I can help you and/ or your child successfully understand, befriend, and reduce the inner and outer conflicts that cause you distress. In our work together, you will have a sacred space where you can feel seen, heard, and understood. This space will enable you to share what burdens you and dig deeper into the intricacies of being you.
Therapy itself, that is, the act of sharing what’s troubling you with a supportive other who holds space for you, can lead to change, but I will also work interactively with you to help you learns new tools and establish new neural pathways in place of old ones that are causing you pain or suffering.
Finding new possibilities in a safe space together can help you experience more joy and less suffering. We will also get to the root cause of your struggles rather than finding a “quick fix” so that you can feel better in a deeper and longer-lasting way.

A somatic (mind- body) and relational approach is my primary orientation. A somatic approach can help you make peace with your mind by teaching you how to include more of your body’s wisdom and support in your daily life. When the mind and body work together as partners, we can experiment gently with new possibilities that will enable you to live more freely with more vitality. You will also discover easier access to states of ease, grace, and peace. Somatic work is also very effective for burnout and trauma.
A relational/ psychodynamic approach helps you understand the impact of your childhood history and how it shapes and influences your relationship choices and patterns. It can help you discover emotional blind spots, areas for continued growth, and ways to release and transform childhood suffering or confusion so you can date and relate more freely.
Many therapies rely just on talking. I have found that this is often insufficient for creating lasting change. Working with the mind-body connection helps reorganize stuck patterns and frees you up energetically and psychologically. It also teaches you how to reduce activation and reactivity and find calmer states.
Looking at relational patterning and how it turns up somatically and shapes your body (causing mysterious physical symptoms, affecting your breathing, your posture, etc.) can also offer you extremely valuable information for your own healing.

The Power of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a light that pierces through the fog. It is a powerful path and a unique relationship that develops between you and your therapist. Safety is a key component of this working relationship. Through the trust that develops between us, you will start to awaken more deeply to your inner life (your deeper experiences) and to the light that you uniquely are in the world.
“Here is Edward Bear, coming downstairs now, bump, bump, bump, on the back of his head behind Christopher Robin. It is, as far as he knows, the only way of coming downstairs, but sometimes he feels that there really is another way, if only he could stop bumping for a moment and think of it.”
– A.A Milne from “Winnie the Pooh”
If you decide to work with me, you will receive my full presence, care, and attention to all of who you are as we work to help ease your distress. It would be a privilege for me to work with you and help you attain greater peace in your life.
